What in the world was going on with the nation’s finances under the Joe Biden administration?
It seems the public purse was at the whim of the wily, corrupt, money-grubbing Deep Staters. This certainly isn’t a novel insight.
The U.S. government and its many lobbyists, insiders, and parasites have been bleeding the host for many decades. However, for many years, there was at least some effort made to obscure the crimes. Somewhere along the line the larceny turned into a complete free for all.
DOGE extraordinaire, Elon Musk, believes the federal government under Biden was handing out hundreds of billions of dollars to fraudsters and people who don’t exist. Where money goes, when it goes to people who don’t exist is a mystery. Certainly, it must go somewhere.
According to estimates from the Government Accountability Office, the U.S. government made $236 billion in improper payments in fiscal year 2023. Improper payments are payments that should not have been made or were made in the incorrect amount.
Somehow this $236 billion in improper payments was an improvement. In fiscal year 2022, an estimated $247 billion in improper payments were made by the U.S. government. What’s more, these estimates don’t include the Department of Health and Human Services’ Temporary Assistance for Needy Families – a program that’s rife with fraud.
Musk doesn’t like all the fraud and waste. It makes him mad. He wants efficiency. He wants to get to the bottom of where the billions of dollars went. He also wants to cut off the spending and stop the waste.
These are noble goals. And the sort of improvements American workers and taxpayers have needed for decades.
But why now? And why Musk?
To Mars, and Beyond
Musk, the wealthiest man in the world, had a banner year in 2024. According to Fortune, at the start of the year his net worth was $229 billion. By the end of the year, it was $442 billion – an increase of $213 billion.
The Fortune article says this significant windfall was largely driven by his friendship with Trump. That Musk’s wealth increased because of Trump’s presidential victory. Was this a coincidence?
Obviously, Musk’s friendship with Trump has given him influence within the President’s inner circle. But is it really about money and power for Musk? What’s his angle?
Musk’s big dream is to one day go to Mars. He believes it is a matter of life and death. No joke, he believes humans must colonize the red planet as a matter of survival.
He calls this “life insurance for life.” The big idea, from what we gather, is that when humans cease to exist on earth, they’ll continue to exist on Mars.
Musk’s schedule milestone is to send human aliens to Mars by the end of the decade. Then what?
What would these Mars pioneers do upon arrival? Would they dig out shelter? Would they find a confined aquifer and drill a water well? Would they plant some taters? Would they install an outhouse? Would they build a church…or a still?
There’s a lot to figure out to make colonizing Mars a reality. Getting there’s just one step in the process. So, why’s Musk wasting his time palling around with Trump. Is it really all about money and influence?
Retribution
Musk, you see, has Asperger’s syndrome. He’s the first to admit it. He’s socially awkward. He misses behavioral cues. He flails his arms and makes strange movements when he shouldn’t. He’s intense and focused. Yet he’s also a loose cannon.
He says all the wrong things at all the wrong times. Moreover, he doesn’t have patience for claptrap. This, especially, puts him at odds with the ‘in’ crowd.
In the 21st century, the Deep State elites have specialized in claptrap. Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI). Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG). Gender confusion. Critical Race Theory (CRT). You name it. The more absurd the cause, the more the elites have tripped over themselves to champion it.
Musk, who had long voted Democrat, thinks it’s all claptrap. And he’s not afraid to call it out. He even bought twitter and renamed it X so he could call BS on the popular claptrap 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Thus, Musk is despised.
His detractors say he’s arrogant, brash, and egotistical. That he’s a jerk and a demon. They call him a Nazi. They say he’s a terrible boss who overworks his employees. That he has too much money and influence. And that he runs roughshod over government regulations or anything else that stands in his way.
Musk, because of all the attacks, has a huge chip on his shoulder. Rather than being content with all his businesses and his hundreds of billions, he wants retribution. He wants to stick it to the Deep State. He wants to cut off the government money that has been enriching them while funding all their claptrap programs.
Breaking the Deep State
“My preferred title is just ‘Tech Support,’” remarked Musk on X this week.
Trump has been in office for merely three weeks. In this time, Musk and DOGE have already taken some big steps to break the deep state. He’s seized access to the federal payment system, demolished an entire agency, and offered millions of civil servants a harsh choice: quit or be fired. Over 40,000 federal employees have already taken Musk up on his offer.
USAID, an agency Musk calls a “criminal organization”, has gone from handing out billions of taxpayer dollars around the world to full stop. In fiscal year 2023, USAID paid out $44 billion, with $16 billion going to Ukraine. The now defunct agency was also funding supposed independent media outlets including Politico, the Associated Press, and the British Broadcasting Corporation, among others.
Deep State devotees are panicked. Ilhan Omar said this is “what the beginning of dictatorship looks like!” Jamie Raskin said Musk had “illegally seized power over the financial payment systems of the United States Treasury.” To which Musk responded:
“What Raskin actually means is that he wants kickbacks and bribes to continue.
“US lobbying/law firms who launder foreign donations (which are actually US taxpayer foreign aid coming full circle!) need to be investigated and shut down.”
The days of the USAID slush fund for fraud, at the expense of taxpayers, are over. Now Musk and DOGE are turning their attention to the Medicare payment system.
“The is where the big money fraud is happening,” said Musk.
Legal challenges have already started flying. But ultimately, we believe these legal challenges will further shine a light on all the corruption that has gone on. The Deep State’s hold of power has run amok for decades. Now Musk is attempting to break it.
We delight in his efforts.
